Exploring AI, intelligent systems, and interdisciplinary research to build technology that solves real-world problems
About Zihan
I am interested in Artificial Intelligence and interdisciplinary research, with a primary focus on human-centered AI and how intelligent systems can better understand, interact with, and support people in real-world settings.
My research interests particularly center on Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Human-AI Interaction, Natural Language Processing (NLP), Large Language Models (LLMs), Audio Intelligence, and Explainable AI (XAI). I am especially interested in understanding how AI systems can process human language and communication, provide more transparent and interpretable interactions, and be designed around human needs and contexts.
My research experience includes data collection, preprocessing, exploratory data analysis, feature engineering, model development and evaluation, literature review, research discussions, and academic writing across different projects and collaborations. I have contributed to research involving AI, healthcare, human-centered applications, and other real-world problems, gaining experience across both technical and interdisciplinary aspects of research.
Beyond developing AI models, I am interested in studying the interaction between humans and intelligent systems and exploring how language, audio, and other forms of human-centered information can be used to build more useful and understandable AI applications.
I am particularly drawn to interdisciplinary problems where AI can be combined with knowledge from other fields to address challenges that cannot be adequately understood from a purely technical perspective. My long-term goal is to pursue research in human-centered and responsible AI while developing intelligent systems that are technically sound, interpretable, and genuinely useful to people.
